Up Foundation Girls League

Funded by the Up Foundation and Wellington Basketball, this league is free for all Year 5 and 6 girls. It’s designed to give girls their own space to play, participate, and enjoy basketball together.

New for 2025: Basketball Development Levy

From 1 January 2025, Basketball New Zealand (BBNZ) will collect a National Levy to help improve basketball across the country.

How much will you pay?

  • $5 for players aged 14 and under

  • $10 for players aged 15–19

  • $15 for players aged 20 and over

You'll pay this fee once a year when you sign up for your team, no matter how many teams or competitions you play in.

What will the money be used for?

  • Building better basketball facilities

  • Training coaches and referees

  • Supporting basketball programs in our community
