Wellington Basketball 2018

The WBA Board and Operations team wish to thank everyone for their patience around Representative basketball and what 2018 has instore for all representative players and academy members.

This year bears new fruit with Wellington Basketball and the Capital Zone Basketball Trust supporting each others representative programs in 2018. To kick things off, all eligible Wellington U15 players (Boys & Girls) will try-out for the U15 Capital Representative teams, representing the entire region at Nationals in July.

Wellington Basketball will be sending 1 team per gender to the U17 and U19 National tournaments this year. For those U17 boys and girls not selected to represent the WBA, they get a second opportunity to trial for the U17 Capital Representative team.

Representing your region under the Capital banner means you are eligible for NTP selection. This is a wonderful chance for our kids to give it another go and we encourage you to take that opportunity. This strategic move aligns with our belief in a regional basketball model, providing pathway opportunities for those of you in our community.

Wellington Basketball is also going abroad this year and is pleased to announce a triangulated "Sister City" relationship between Melbourne, Los Angeles and Wellington. We have more information to release over the coming weeks about each individual tour and the new ones we are working on for our women's basketball.

As volunteers, we have been working tirelessly to create opportunities, new products and services for all members and supporters to benefit from. Our job is far from being done but we thank you anyway for your continued support.
