Porirua Women's Molly McCallum
Day 3 at the Opens Premiership Zone 3 Tournament concluded with the Porirua men's team qualifying for the Opens National Championship on their very last game - against Morehu Easts. Unbeaten Morehu-Easts were going to qualify regardless if they won or lost against Porirua. There was a three-way tie between Victoria and Palmerston North Cardinals and Porirua for second place if Porirua had lost their final game. The better points-differential would have gone to Palmerston North Cardinals after they had beaten Porirua earlier in Pool play. So it was a must-win game for them which they did in the end, quite comfortably 74-51.
